Ourside Film Making and Photography workshops
Since the 2nd of November, young people in and around the area of Evesham have been participating in film making and photography workshops at the Ourside Youth Centre in Bengeworth.
These workshops provided a very practical, hands-on and enjoyable experience where participants got the chance to put their skills into practice whilst documenting the rehearsals of a local dance group. After the successful production in Honeybourne, 12 Moves 'Dance Squad' once again helped to create a new and exciting dance routine which unfolded in front of the young documenter's lenses!
The young people that took part used both film and stills photography to chart the progress of the dancers. They also conducted short interviews with the performers to find out why they dance and how they feel when doing so. All the material was collected to make a short film about the project.
The young people thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this project.
'I am really enjoying learning how to use a proper camera and do filming because my Grandad has just got a new camera and I can help him learn how to do it'. Megan aged 12
'This has been a really good experience and I feel like a photographer now'. Heather aged 12
