Redditch Children's Centres
Redditch Children’s Centres have been chosen as a key area for enquiry and we want to support them as they place more emphasis on the arts and enrich links with each other, local schools and parents. Extended Services are working towards developing collaborative links between children’s centres and schools and this project aims to contribute to this strategy.
This project is open to all six centres, but only one will be selected to engage with and co-manage a creative project that responds to the needs of the children’s centre. The project will include professional development for staff alongside inspiring creative work with the children. Planning will commence in September with delivery Jan – April 2011.
The centres might want to try something new or enrich something you have already planned or started. The project will allow up to 8 days of artist/creative practitioner input and will also include high quality film and photographic documentation. There may also be opportunities to visit a regional children’s centre with a high quality Reggio Emilio arts focus.
The aim of the project is to create a case study with the chosen centre which can then be shared with the other five children's centres.
The PRU'V You Wrong film was launched at the Palace Theatre, Redditch.
In this creative project St Mary's Short Stay School in Redditch produced a dynamic film about the realities of 'SSS' life.
