The Malvern Time Capsule Project
Children from Malvern Parish Primary School took part in the Malvern Time Capsule Project on Tuesday 15th June by making short historic podcasts using film, animation, photography, audio, and music and placing their work in the time capsule that is going into the new community hospital currently under construction.
The children and staff discussed their views on the Malvern community and their views on what Malvern will be like in 2048, when the time capsule is opened. These discussions were turned into creative podcasts which will be placed in the time capsule later this year.
The school also hosted a twilight session for teachers and community group leaders in order to encourage them to get involved in the time capsule project and demonstrate the impact the workshops have on the children.
Lynn Gill the head teacher from Malvern Parish Primary was so impressed with the outocmes of the session that she is currently looking at ways that these creative workshops can continue with the school in order to engage children in the curriculum in a dynamic and exciting way.
We would like to encourage the Malvern community to get involved in this project and produced work to place in the time capsule. Get creative and make history by adding to the future! The deadline for entries is October, for more information please contact Helen Perry, helen.perry@worcestershire.nhs.uk.
