Martley and Malvern
This intergenerational Martley project aims to bring people of all ages and cultures together celebrating the diversity of this rural community. It’s traditions; history and future are the focus for this innovative arts project that will draw parallels between the migratory patterns of the local bird population and the people living within the local community.
Abberley Primary School
Young people at Abberley Primary School have worked with Jim Heath, a sculptor to create a permanent installation in the school grounds inspired by local history and the personal stories of the community. They have also explored with a design consultant the possibilities of creating new outdoor learning classrooms and working with members of the local community to capture stories from people who live in the area.
With the support of arts development and extended services and community partners, there are several linked projects running in Martley, they include ‘Generation Together’ which looks at the farming past and present and raising awareness of cultural diversity through looking at their own community.
A celebration of the Trace and Place project exploring what community cohesion means to children and young people living in this rural area.
Trace and Place Project - Young people from four schools in and around Tenbury have produced a film highlighting what it is like growing up in their area.
Children from Malvern Parish Primary School took part in this creative school and community project for the Malvern Time Capsule by creating historic podcasts.
This creative school and community project hosted at Lindridge Primary School included a series of family learning sessions inspiring children and parents to use creative digital media together.
The local community in Malvern are making history by creating a time capsule for the new community hospital to be opened in 2048 on the anniversary of the NHS.
Abberley Primary School reflect on their historical journey and encourage other schools in the Martley Pyramid to get involved in creative school projects.
