Bewdley Harvest Fair
On the weekend of the 25th and the 26th September 2010, the beautiful Georgian town of Bewdley held it's first Harvest Fair to celebrate the very best of the region's food offerings as well as traditional arts & crafts.
The fair captured the traditions of the Harvest period and there was plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Lots of stalls selling local produce lined the banks of the River Severn and traditional crafts were centred around Bewdley Museum in the heart of the town. The fair commenced with a great spectacle as horse drawn carriages paraded across Bewdley bridge. The picturesque Jubilee Gardens situated at the back of the museum were a temporary home for some rare breed farm animals whilst the pond was used to harbour - and race - hand crafted coracles. Music and dancing throughout the two days added to the enjoyment of the occasion.
As the Bewdley Harvest Fair was embraced by the whole community, organisers have made plans to repeat the event next year.
