Our first six months

Supporting Arts, Enriching Lives through creative school projects, community projects and arts development throughout Worcestershire.

Extended services have a strong track record in providing high quality arts and cultural activities, community and creative school projects for young people and the wider community. The excellent arts and development activities within schools around Worcestershire are recognised nationally. Arts Extend has built on this success and Pablo Productions (Delivery Partner) working in partnership with the Extended Services and Arts Education teams, and alongside regional and national stakeholders and partners, are responding to the needs of young people and their local communities. We use strong partnerships and disciplined innovation to help enrich, support and maintain the excellent arts practice within Worcestershire.

The idea for this project emerged from the evaluation of Arts Council England’s national pilot project. We were inspired by the outstanding success of the West Midlands project in Telford and wanted to test the model further within rural locations and in addition to schools, try to work with family centres, Short Stay Schools, youth services, early years and with looked after young people offering them a wide range of community projects, creative school projects and arts development.

"The Arts Extend project is a fabulous opportunity to really demonstrate how Arts focused Extended Services can have a positive impact on children and young people"

Hannah Needham, Extended Schools Services Manager, Worcestershire County Council

Arts Extend supports young people as they express themselves through the arts and make a positive impact on their community. The first six months were a very enjoyable and successful experience for all who took part in the many artistic and creative projects throughout the region. This showreel offers a glimpse into the wide range of projects and events that occured within Worcestershire as well as the sense of fun on each occasion. Arts Extend will continue to support young people and the arts for the next six months and beyond.
